Emoji Drop Privacy Policy

No sign-in. Anonymous analytics improve the games, and ads keep them free.

Overview

Emoji Drop (also published as "Emoji World") is a mobile arcade of bundled HTML mini-games. It does not require sign-in, account creation, or personal profile information, and the games remain fully playable offline. To understand how the games are used and to improve them, the app includes anonymous, privacy-respecting analytics and session analytics. From version 2.42.0 the app also shows advertising. Both are described below.

Effective date: August 4, 2026. Contact: puzzlethrone@gmail.com

Information The App Stores On Your Device

Emoji Drop saves gameplay-only information on your device, such as high scores, best results, sound and music settings, and local game progress. This information is stored locally using app preferences or WebView local storage.

Analytics And Session Replay

To understand how players use the app and to fix problems, Emoji Drop uses PostHog for product analytics and session replay, and Google Analytics for Firebase for gameplay analytics. The same events are sent to both. Through these services the app may collect:

  • Anonymous usage events — for example when the app is opened, which game is opened or started, and the score reached at the end of a run.
  • Basic device and app information — such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and time zone.
  • A randomly generated, anonymous identifier used to group one device's events into sessions. It is not linked to your name, email, or any real-world identity.
  • Approximate, country-level location inferred from your IP address by the analytics provider. We do not store your full IP address as a profile field.
  • Session recordings — a recording of your in-app activity (taps and screens viewed) so we can see where the games are confusing or broken. The games contain no personal information on screen. Session recording is done by PostHog only.

This analytics data is used to measure usage and improve the app, and it is not sold. PostHog processes it on our behalf on their United States infrastructure; see posthog.com/privacy. Firebase processes it under Firebase's data processing terms.

Advertising

From version 2.42.0, Emoji Drop shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. Earlier versions of the app contain no advertising SDK and show no ads. To serve and measure those ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google:

  • Your Android advertising identifier and app set identifier, which you can reset or delete in your Android settings.
  • Your IP address, which Google uses to estimate approximate location.
  • Your interactions with the app and with ads, and app performance information.

Google uses this for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can limit ad personalisation in your Android settings under Privacy → Ads. The analytics described in the previous section are separate from advertising: PostHog data is not used to show you ads.

Notifications

Emoji Drop may send occasional local reminder notifications — for example, to try a game you have not played yet. These reminders are created on your device and do not collect any data or require an internet connection. On Android 13 and later the app asks for notification permission, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Personal Data

Emoji Drop does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, precise location, payment information, or login credentials. The analytics described above are anonymous and are not tied to your real-world identity.

Permissions And Network

Emoji Drop requests the following:

  • Internet access — used to send the anonymous analytics described above and, from version 2.42.0, to load ads. The games themselves do not need a connection and continue to work offline.
  • Notifications (Android 13 and later) — used only for the optional local reminders described above.
  • Vibration — used for in-game haptic feedback.
  • Advertising ID (from version 2.42.0) — used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads.

The app has no login system. If you tap the privacy icon, Android may open this public web page in your browser.

Data Retention And Deletion

Gameplay progress, high scores and settings live only on your device; uninstalling the app deletes them. Analytics, session-replay and advertising data are retained by PostHog and Google under their own retention schedules.

Because the app has no sign-in, the data it sends is not tied to your identity and we have no way to look up an individual player's records, so we cannot action a per-person deletion request. You can, however, reset or delete your advertising identifier in your Android settings. If you have a question about your data, contact puzzlethrone@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

Emoji Drop is a general-audience game and is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have received personal information from a child, contact us and we will review the request.
